- Synopsis
- The Sound of the Bandoneon is a lively, melancholic tribute to the bandoneon, the beating heart of the tango, threatened with extinction. Like the tango, the story of the bandoneon seems to become a dramatic one. The instrument travelled to Argentina early 20th century together with German immigrants. But the old bandoneons break down and new ones are hardly manufactured anymore. Since tourists and collectors take them home as souvenirs, the bandoneon is in real danger now of disappearing altogether.
