- Synopsis
- TV Series (2025). 6 episodes. Based on 'Dope Girls: The Birth of the British Drug Underground', writer Marek Kohn's cult classic about the birth of nightclubs in London's Soho and the troubling drug use—especially of morphine and cocaine— that followed after World War I. Kate Galloway (Julianne Nicholson) is a woman who has lost everything after her husband commits suicide. Along with her teenage daughter (Eilidh Fisher), she and her gutsy teenage daughter open a club in London's Soho, a neighborhood soon controlled by gangs of women who run the clubs and control the drug and alcohol business. In response, the Metropolitan Police experiment with a division of female officers by infiltrating one of them, Violet Davies (Eliza Scanlen), into Kate's gang.
