- Synopsis
- Arrietty Clock, a head-strong teenage Borrower, is desperate to explore life outside her family home hidden under the floorboards, but her parents, Pod and Homily, are terrified of the world of the ‘Human Beans’ and fiercely protective of their daughter. However Arrietty befriends James, a lonely human boy who lives above her in the house with his widowed father. When the Borrowers’ hidden home is discovered, they are forced to abandon it and venture into the wide world... then they get captured by Professor Mildeye, a scientist who is determined to restore his reputation by exposing these ‘little people’ to the public; Arrietty is forced to accept that she can’t rescue them alone and will need Spiller’s help, a leather-jacketed tearaway Borrower.
