- Synopsis
- TV miniseries (2024). 6 episodes. October 1981, in the middle of the Cold War, a time of maximum political tension where the threat of nuclear war constantly lurks. On a freezing night aboard the Soviet submarine U-137, the crew fights the cold with an outrageous party in honor of one of their own who has just become a father. One drink leads to another and the submarine ends up running aground in neutral Swedish waters, in the Karlskrona archipelago, just a stone's throw from the country's top-secret naval base. Whiskey on the Rocks is a humorous reinterpretation of this incredible true story that explores the catastrophic consequences of this drunken mistake. Never had the world been so close to nuclear conflict, and all the responsibility for curbing the ambitions of several warmongers fell on one man, Swedish Prime Minister Thorbjörn Fälldin.
