- Synopsis
- Period drama that follows the passionate and forbidden sentimental relationship between a high society woman and her maid. At the beginning of the 20th century, in the midst of the disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, young Anka leaves her Slovakian village to go to Prague to work as a maid in the house of a wealthy family. There she soon discovers that the existence of highborn women is as limited as hers and that the despot treatment given to her by Resi - the eldest daughter of the family, destined to be just another ornament in the lives of the men around her - does nothing more than hide her frustration at the lack of freedom. A special bond will emerge between them.
