- Synopsis
- Biopic of the legendary Jim Morrison and his band The Doors, from their beginnings to the singer's death in a Paris hotel room in 1971. In the early days of the group's formation, Morrison is at his most benign; he's just a guy hanging out on the beach writing poetry. But soon the Doors' fame begins to spread, with Morrison in the spotlight. As Morrisson's drug use and erratic behavior increase exponentially, the rest of the band-Ray Manzarek (Kyle McLachalan), John Densmore (Kevin Dillon) and Robby Krieger (Frank Whaley)-begins to tire of his late arrivals, increasing number of cancellations and drunken recording sessions that require endless retakes. But no one, not even his girlfriend Pamela Courson, could help Morrison as he spirals into a hell of drugs, alcohol, public obscenity and depression, bringing his talent and his music to an untimely end.
