- A coonskin-hat-wearing, fur-trapping frontiersmen (Robert Taylor) is set on making his fortune in the Northwest Territory. But that's easier said the done, especially when he passes through Barren River, Kentucky, and meets Mary Stuart Cherne (Eleanor Parker).
