Synopsis

Mid-Cold War. An American family on holiday in the Eastern Europe of the 60s, the Hollanders find themselves in deep water when Walter, the father, takes a photograph of a sunset beside a restricted military area. They are obliged to seek refuge in the US Embassy, where they meet a priest who has been in hiding for six years and dreams of becoming a conjurer. The Hollander’s luck now depends on Axel, the Embassador’s incompetent son, who has been left at the helm while his father is out of town.
