- Based on the 1994 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by E. Annie Prouix, Kevin Spacey plays an emotionally beaten man who moves himself and his two daughters back to his hometown in Newfoundland. His adulterous wife’s (Blanchett) death in car accident is the catalyst for this life change. Quoyle (Spacey) returns to his roots as a struggling journalist by securing a job as the writer of the shipping news for the local newspaper. He must learn how to put his life and the life of his family back together after his daughters traumatizing existence with their mother. He finds new life and new love in this special small town.
