- Synopsis
- In terms of living the American Dream, Alex (BEN STILLER) and Nancy (DREW BARRYMORE) have it pretty good. They're a young, vibrant couple in New York City with bright futures ahead of them. But one thing is missing: a home of their own. But their new home comes with one feature they didn't expect: an upstairs rent-controlled tenant, Mrs. Connelly, who isn't quite as easy going or frait as Alex and Nancy originally anticipated. As their blissful life begins to seriously fray around the edges, their dream home rapidly turns into a nightmare. It's then that they start to wonder: if they can't move Mrs. Connely out ...

-
"A shoddily constructed and alarmingly unfunny dark comedy"
-
"It's stylish, it's sort of smart, it's full of misplaced talent. But it's not funny enough, and maybe, in a way, not dark enough either"
-
"Somewhere along the line, the comedy turned from dark and playful to mean-spirited and sophomoric. A waste of the considerable appeal and comic talents of leads Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore"
-
"Tells an increasingly outlandish story with very funny (and often gross) moments. But about an hour in, it grows derivative and disappointing."
-
"More demanding viewers hoping for the cruel wit of DeVito's 'Throw Momma From the Train' or 'The War of the Roses' will likely be disappointed by its lack of comic bite. Read full review
