An anonymous protagonist has conversations with different people who seem to enter and leave his life arbitrarily. One phrase, "dream is destiny", expresses the basic idea of the film: to dare to enter the uncontrollable world of dreams, as exciting as it is disturbing and dark, and to allow oneself to enjoy the eternal moment it lasts to the full.
"I have seen Waking Life three times now. I want to see it again -- not to master it, or even to remember it better, -- but simply to experience all of these ideas, all of this passion, the very act of trying to figure things out."
