- A young boy JJ (Frank Nasso) runs away from his foster home and ends up in Manhattan's Central Park. JJ loathes his abusive mother and wasn't happy at the foster home so he finds refuge with the people that live in Central Park. Here he meets The Guardian (Harvey Keitel) whose home is a cave and contrary to appearances is kind. He then meets Rebecca (Kathleen Turner) and Noah (Danny Aiello) who lost their son several years ago. Through them he discovers the love he has never been able to find and a family life he thought impossible.
