Synopsis

TV Miniseries (2025). 5 Episodes. As a Japanese prisoner of war forced to work on the Thai-Burma railway, medical officer Dorrigo Evans is haunted by the memory of his affair with his uncle’s wife, Amy. Thoughts of it both sustain and torment him as he spends his days trying to preserve life in a world beset by death. Their love began by chance when they met in a bookshop. Since that moment, thoughts of Amy have constantly flooded Dorrigo’s mind, despite his long-term marriage to another woman.
