- Synopsis
- Cuba, 1958, during the dictatorship of General Batista. Jack Weil (Robert Redford), a professional gambler, finds himself in Havana with the intention of playing the poker game of his life. He lives completely on the fringes of politics, but soon realizes that the city is a veritable nest of spies, secret police and Castro revolutionaries. On the eve of the 1959 revolution, his pleasant and carefree life undergoes a radical change when he allows himself to be seduced by Roberta (Lena Olin), because both she and her husband (Raúl Juliá) are Castro supporters and represent what Weil has tried to avoid all his life.
