- Synopsis
- TV miniseries (2004). 2 Episodes. Bean Mears (Rob Lowe), a writer in decline, returns to Salem's Lot with the intention of writing a book about the murders and disappearances linked to the mysterious Marsten house, located on a hill overlooking the entire town. But he is not the only newcomer: some antique furniture dealers have moved into the ramshackle Marsten house, uninhabited since the suicide of the former owner. With the arrival of these strangers, villagers begin to die and their corpses disappear under mysterious circumstances. Ben and a small group of neighbors come to the conclusion that an evil and bloodthirsty being has taken up residence in the village.

-
"A thoroughly enjoyable mini-series"
-
"This version, 25 years after a first and relatively well-regarded mini-series, more than justifies the considerable effort that went into making it."
-
"What makes all of that work so well here is a combination of credible acting, suspenseful filming and special effects that, especially in the second part, go beyond what you'd expect from the small screen"
-
"It's got a creepy moment or two, and fleeting glimpses of solid performances from supporting players James Cromwell and Andre Braugher, but most of it just plods along"
