- Synopsis
- Aspiring lawyer Emilia Greenleaf thought she knew what she wanted in pursuing married senior partner Jack Woolf. But she didn't count on getting pregnant and married, and she certainly didn't plan on having to forge a relationship with her highly-strung 5-year-old stepson, William. But while Jack is away, Emilia's newborn daughter Isabel dies in the night, and it is William who is left to deal with her pain. Despite his best efforts, their fragile relationship seems jeopardised by her grief.
Jack's controlling ex-wife Carolyn is not amused by Emilia's treatment of her son. When she accuses Emilia of carelessness - a carelessness that might have killed Isabel - Emilia runs away, overcome with guilt and insecurity. But defending Emilia, it is William who is adamant that she's part of the family and that she couldn't have been responsible for Isabel's death, and Emilia realises that though she's lost a daughter, she still has a husband, a father and a son.-
