- Synopsis
- An acclaimed version of the original buddy adventure, masterpiece novel "Don Quijote de La Mancha" by Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes, Russian director Kozintsev's visual style has been compared to Eisenstein. Don Quixote is a romantic, eccentric dreamer, an eternally chivalrous knight who worships the lady of his heart, Dulcinea del Toboso. He fights with windmills, defends the unprivileged and tries to patronize his more realistic friend and loyal companion, the stout Sancho Panza. Travelling the roads of Spain, the two heroes – the tall and skinny Don Quixote and the small and rotund Sancho – never lose heart when landing in trouble, staunchly believing in the power of good.
