Synopsis

TV series. A period political series that chronicles the rise to power of the Medici family and the consequences of the economic, cultural and social transformation they initiated. A revolution that challenged traditional thinking and changed history, but also made them many enemies. The first season focuses on the rising years of Cosimo Medici (Richard Madden), who is forced to succeed his father Giovanni (Dustin Hoffman) as head of the Medici after the latter is unexpectedly assassinated. Surrounded by adversaries, Cosimo is then faced with the challenge of keeping the Medici bank afloat and preserving his family's influence and power in Florence, while continuing his quest to find out who murdered his father.
