- Synopsis
- Written for the screen by Neil Simon, The Out-Of-Towners is witty, uproarious movie that keeps moving at Simon´s unusal frenetic pace. Incredible mishaps occur when a middle-aged Ohio couple fly to New York City for the husband´s job interview. Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis are perfectly cast as the frustrated and overwhelmed duo. Their plane can´t land; they are rerouted to Boston; their luggage disappears; and the hotel cancels their reservations. The list is endless, and Lemmon tries to retaliate by threatening everyone with a lawsuit.

"While it's implausible that all of these mishaps would befall a couple in 24 hours, none of these occurrences is beyond the realm of belief, and Simon has cleverly strung them together in one of his best screenplays."
