- Synopsis
- A new look at the figure of St. Teresa of Avila. The plot of this film is brought to us through the eyes of a young girl in today’s world as she reads one of the most important works written by the Saint, The Book of Her Life. Her eyes allow us to revisit Sister Teresa of Jesus’s early years at the Encarnación convent, to discover her love of finding a new way to approach faith, despite staunch opposition from the Inquisition, which hounded her, burned her manuscripts and put her on trial. Teresa succeeded in imposing her way of living religion and of communicating with God and started important reformation work on founding what would be the first in a long list of Discalced Carmelite nunneries, the San José convent in Avila.
