Synopsis

Germany, autumn 1918. Far from the horrors of World War I, Luise, a 24-year-old farmer, lives alone on a remote farm in Alsace, then part of Germany. One day, a young French girl named Hélène, fleeing on her way to Holland, seeks refuge on the farm. With the subsequent arrival of the young German Hermann, a deserter from the army, a new relationship is formed between the three of them, full of love, competition and hatred.

Awards: 2023: German Film Awards (Deutsche Filmpreis): nominated to Best Cinematography.
