- Synopsis
- The members of the Lunies family have not been a family for a long time. Liss is silently glad that her demented husband Gerd is slowly wasting away in a nursing home. But her newfound freedom is short-lived: diabetes, cancer and kidney failure mean that she doesn't have much time left, either. Her son Tom, a 40-something orchestra conductor, works on a composition entitled 'Dying', while becoming a surrogate father to his ex-girlfriend's son. Tom's sister Ellen, meanwhile, begins an affair with the married Sebastian, with whom she shares a fondness for alcohol.
